Location: Ystrad Mynach, South Wales

This job entailed cutting out sections of composite reinforced concrete floor with steel decking at various sizes (from 200 x 200mm to 2 x 2m) over four different floors. The cutting needed to be carried out to a tight programme to allow for ventilation ducting to be installed. Before commencing work Downs Construction erected crash decks and safety netting on the floor below, in order to ensure people in the vicinity were protected and kept safe.

Other works on the site involved diamond drilling (35 - 250mm in diameter) holes, which were needed in order to allow electrical services to pass through walls and between floors.
